October 2011
1,000 gallon stainless steel storage tank.  This tank adds one more to the existing 4 large tanks (3 1,000 gal tanks, 1 1,400 gal tank), and many other smaller tanks (ranging from 250 gals to 500 gals).   The tanks are used to ferment the wine, with some wines being further fermented in Oak barrels.  1,000 gallons results in about 5,000 bottle of wine.

October 2011
200 harvesting lugs.   Lugs are used in harvesting for carrying the grapes from the vineyards to winery.  During harvesting season, we pick about 30 tons of grapes.  Grape harvesting season varies considerably with the weather, but generally goes from the first of September (can start as early as August) to mid-October (can end as late as end of October).

November 2011
3 Bulk Barrels (2 at 240 Gal and 1 at 300 Gal).  The barrels are used for the aging of dry red wines and ports, and facilitate oxygen diffusion.  A way of looking at their function is to say that they do the same job as Oak barrels without introducing the Oak taste to the wine, thereby softening the wine.

January 2012
4 Oak Barrels: 2 French Oak with Toasted Heads, 1 Minnesota American Oak with Toasted Heads, 1 Hybrid (Minnesota American Oak with French Oak Toasted Heads).  The barrels are used to give a "Kiss of Oak" to our Chardonnay (4-6 weeks) and then to instill Oak flavor to our Cabernet (over a year).
