SATEK WINERY WINS 22 MEDALS, MULTIPLE GOLD, IN INTERNATIONAL WINE
COMPETITION
Satek Winery located near Fremont and Angola, Indiana won 22 medals in
the Indy International Wine Competition, one of the largest
International wine competitions in the United States. Winning two gold
medals again this year, this marks the 6th time the 8 year old winery
has won multiple gold medals and the 7th time the winery has won a
double digit medal count in this large, international wine competition
in Indianapolis.
With over 3200 entries from 17 countries Satek Winery won a gold medal
for its 2007 Seyval Blanc, a dry white wine made with locally grown
grapes, and with its semi sweet Mango Mania fruit wine.
Satek Winery won silver medals with its 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintners
Reserve,2008 DeChaunac , 2007 Vidal Blanc, and 2008 Kreibaum Bay Dry
Rose’ dry wines. Satek Winery won silver medals for its Kreibaum Bay
Port, Raspberry wine, and Blueberry wine.
Bronze medal winners included 101 Lakes Red, 2008 101 Lakes White,
Blackberry, Dry Blueberry, 2007 Steuben Dessert Wine, 2006 Syrah, 2006
Old Vine Zinfandel, 2007 Kreibaum Bay Dry Rose’, 2007 Cabernet
Sauvignon, 2007 Merlot, 2008 Chardonnay, 2007 Soren’s Favorite, and a
soon to be released Steuben Krystal ice wine.
Owner Pam Satek said, “We are always pleased when every part of our
portfolio wins medals, from dry wines to semi-dry wines to semi-sweet
wines to dessert wines. Satek Winery is proud of its broad portfolio of
medal winning wines.” Larry Satek, winemaker, said “A lot of the credit
must go to our staff. As we have grown, our staff has worked hard to
make the great wines we have. We all take great pride in putting our
wines in the bottle.”
Satek Winery is open from 10 AM until 6 PM daily, and yes, you can taste
and purchase wine on Sunday.
